Ted Cruz Calls For PayPal To Ban Terror-Supporting BLM Group

(Congressional Agenda) – A pair of Republican senators are now calling on PayPal, one of the largest online payment processing companies in the world, to cancel the account of a Black Lives Matter chapter due to that particular group posting a rather nasty pro-Hamas statement on social media. That’s the least the company can do, right? Hatred of this magnitude should never be tolerated by any organization. If a conservative non-profit made legitimate racist statements against a minority, every company on earth would cut ties with them, and rightfully so.

According to BizPac Review, “Senators Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Marco Rubio (R-FL) are demanding that PayPal remove the account for BLM Chicago after its absolutely vile tweet expressing support for terrorists who massacred 260 civilians at an outdoor music festival in Israel.”

The original post, which was published on X, formerly known as Twitter, had a picture of a Hamas paraglider and a Palestinian flag along with the caption, “I STAND WITH PALESTINE” in all-caps — the Internet version of shouting — as the terrorist dropped into a music festival in Israel where innocent people were mowed down by a spray of gunfire.

“BLM Chicago later said that ‘we aren’t proud of’ the tweet that many interpreted as an endorsement for the cold-blood murder of innocent people but has continued to post pro-Palestinian, anti-Israel Hamas propaganda on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, and shows no signs of letting up,” BPR reported.

Too little, too late. The damage from the post has already been done. BLM Chicago needs to learn the hard way that there are consequences for your actions, which is the exact same line they give whenever the left wants to cancel someone for something they’ve stated. The progressives chose the rules, we’re just upholding them, right?

“BLM is a Marxist group that has spent the last week endorsing genocidal terrorism,” the Texas Republican asserted during a conversation with the Washington Examiner. “If PayPal’s policy against promoting violence means anything, they obviously and immediately should cut their ties. Big Tech companies are not exempt from the consequences that come from boosting terrorism.”

PayPal’s acceptable use policy states that the company forbids “the promotion of hate, violence, racial or other forms of intolerance that is discriminatory” which means that BLM Chicago is technically in violation of the terms of use.

“Black Lives Matter groups disgraced themselves by cheering Hamas’s murderous rampage against Israel, and they should face the consequences of their actions,” Senator Rubio remarked about the situation.

“Financial institutions like PayPal should vigorously enforce their Terms of Service and comply with anti-terror finance laws so that groups can’t profit from sickening celebrations of violence,” he continued.

That wasn’t the only thing that raised concerns for the Republican senators. It turns out that PayPal is also processing payments for an anti-Israel charity that has a number of connections to a Palestinian terrorist organization.

“The Washington Examiner reported that the payment processor is handling donations for the Alliance for Global Justice, an Arizona-based nonprofit that has ‘come under fire from Congress and watchdog groups for being linked to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine terror group,'” the report continued. “Republicans in Congress are vowing probes into PayPal which according to its policies, forbids the use of its services for ‘the promotion of hate, violence, racial, or other forms of intolerance that is discriminatory or the financial exploitation of a crime,’ according to its policies,” it added.

“PayPal should obviously and immediately cut ties with any group linked to Palestinian terrorism,” Cruz declared during the interview. “Big Tech companies are not exempt from American laws or reputational risk from boosting terrorism.”

“No U.S. person or company should fund Palestinian terrorist organizations seeking to kill innocent Israelis,” Rubio commented. “I’ll be asking the Treasury Department to look into this arrangement.”

  1. I agree with Cruz and Rubio. The liberal media and the BLM people cannot be trusted. They are all trying to tear our country apart and the liberal, uninformed public believe the prejudiced media and Soros funded groups and all their lies.

  2. Just my two cents worth; I do not agree with the actions proposed. The other party slips into the fog and darkness and instantaniously becomes more dangerous as everything they did and stood for, being able to react and arm against, now happens in the dark. As an ex-millitary electronic – and psychological warfare operator I have to say that losing that advantage, might bite you in the arse eventually. Wars are won by people with brains, NOT by wishful thinking!!

  3. I’m of two minds on the subject. I agree that what this BLM group is saying is hateful. But isn’t Freedom of Speech one of the biggest issues we, as conservatives, are fighting to protect from the cancel culture of the left? We can’t yell “free speech” and still advocate shutting up those who say things we don’t like, regardless of whether or not they are considered “hateful.”

We have been saying for years that there is no such thing as “hate” speech, yet now, because some idiots buy into the pro-Hamas, anti-Israel propaganda, we want a private corporation to ban them?

Isn’t this the same thing as the present administration bullying the tech companies to shut down conservatives on their platforms?

One of the most dangerous situations in any fight is the possibility of becoming what you are fighting against in the drive to win the war. That is what happened with the American intelligence community during the Cold War and has led to our Machiavellian government.

We don’t need to be saying “We have met the enemy, and it is us.”
