BOMBSHELL REPORT: ‘Squad’ Member Under Criminal Investigation By The DOJ

(Congressional Agenda) – A member of the infamous “Squad” in the House of Representatives, Democrat Congresswoman Cori Bush of Missouri, is now the subject of a criminal investigation being carried out by the Justice Department. I know what you’re thinking. Why should we trust the DOJ, under the leadership of Attorney General Merrick Garland, when it has been made clear it’s a weapon in the hands of leftists, being used to silence President Joe Biden’s political enemies? Well, frankly, we can’t trust them, but that is beside the point for now.

Jonathan Jones, contributor for The Western Journal reports that Bush is being accused of misspending funds that were allocated for security. Jake Sherman, founder of Punchbowl News, first broke the story in a post published on X/Twitter Tuesday morning.

“BREAKING NEWS — THE JUSTICE DEPARTMENT is conducting a criminal probe into @CoriBush, according to six sources familiar with the investigation,” Sherman posted.

“The Justice Department subpoenaed the House Sergeant at Arms for records relating to the misspending of federal security money,” Sherman continued.

“According to the UK’s Daily Mail, Bush has spent over $750,000 of government funds on security in less than two full terms as a congresswoman. Bush’s husband Cortney Merritts, who she married last year, worked as a security guard for her and was paid more than $60,000 of those funds while working for her re-election campaign in 2022, the New York Post reported last February,” Jones wrote.

The big red flag is the fact that Merritts does not have previous private security experience or training, nor does he have any of the required licenses to perform these services legally.

The Justice Department has yet to reveal the depth of its investigation, however the Daily Mail is saying that a nonprofit organization called the Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust has requested the Federal Election Commission investigate Bush.

Merritts was paid a whopping $62,000 to provide Bush with security services, which, again, he had no background in, no training, and no licensing. Did Bush really think people wouldn’t find out about her misusing money in such a manner? Liberals really do seem to believe they are above the law and the American people they are supposed to be representing are brainless.

“Punchbowl News reporter Max Cohen reported after the news of the investigation broke that he had asked Bush in person about the criminal probe Monday evening. Cohen said Bush ‘reprimanded’ him for asking her about it and complained she was suffering a toothache,” the WJ article stated.

“I asked Cori Bush about the investigation directly last night,” Cohen remarked. “She repeatedly declined to comment and reprimanded me for approaching her as she had a toothache.”

Bush first took office in 2020 and wasted zero time getting in good with the other members of the “Squad,” Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, and Ilhan Omar of Minnesota. Probably not a great idea to align yourself with some of the most disliked individuals in the House, but hey, at least now we know what kind of person Bush is, right?
