Feinstein Confused Over Kamala Harris Presiding Over Senate

(Congressional Agenda) – California Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein apparently suffered from a bout of confusion in 2022 as she witnessed Vice President Kamala Harris presiding over the Senate during a tie-breaking vote, throwing fuel on the fire concerning rumors that she’s experiencing serious mental decline. Feinstein is 89-years-old.

A report from Fox News said that the California senator was unaware during a vote as to why Harris, who at that point in time voted in numerous tie-breaking votes, was performing her duties as president of the Senate.

A witness to the incident spoke with the New York Times saying that Feinstein allegedly asked her colleagues, “What is she doing here?”

“With the Senate locked in a 50-50 majority split for the first two years of the Biden administration, Democrats needed every member of their party plus Harris’ tie-breaking vote to approve many bills and nominations. The senator’s deteriorating memory was well-documented last year, with some lawmakers and former aides telling the San Francisco Chronicle that she can no longer fulfill her duties and represent the nearly 40 million people of California without substantial assistance from aides,” Fox divulged.

Feinstein was also absent from her role in the Senate from February until May, dealing with complications she suffered from a bout of shingles. When she came back, she then experienced issues stemming from a neurological disorder called Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, which was also a byproduct of shingles.

“A week after coming back to Capitol Hill following her three-month absence, Feinstein appeared unaware she had been away. After a reporter asked on May 16 about her colleagues’ response to her return, Feinstein claimed she never left,” Fox continued.

“No, I haven’t been gone,” Feinstein claimed. “You should follow the — I haven’t been gone. I’ve been working.”

The California Democrat has been reliant on her aides to function since she has come back to the Senate. The NY Times is claiming that staffers push her wheelchair, remind her how to vote and when, and explain things when she becomes confused. Maybe, just maybe, it’s time for her to step down? Just a thought.

I have a sneaking suspicion that if Joe Biden gets reelected president, this is what he’ll be like halfway through his second term.

“Some Democrat lawmakers are calling for Feinstein to resign because of cognitive decline and inability to fulfill her duties. Reps. Ro Khanna, Calif.; Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, N.Y.; Ritchie Torres, N.Y.; and Rashida Tlaib, Mich., have all urged the senator to step down,” Fox noted.

Feinstein stated back in February she had no intention of running for reelection in 2024, but did say she would stick around and finish out her current term. She has served in the Senate for three decades.
