Lara Trump Steps Down From RNC Role – What She’s Planning Next Will Shock You

(Congressional Agenda) – Lara Trump, current co-chair of the Republican National Committee and daughter-in-law to President-elect Donald Trump, announced on social media platform X that she would be stepping down from her position, citing three goals she wanted to accomplish on the job that have now been met. Trump first took the job as co-chair of the RNC back in March of 2024, however, there have been plenty of rumors floating around about what direction she might go once her father-in-law is back in the Oval Office, including a potential run for Senate.

“With that big win, I kind of feel like my time is up,” she wrote, according to Fox News. “What I intended to do has been done.”

“Trump only began her journey as co-chair in March and was pivotal in Republicans retaking control of the Senate while maintaining a narrow House majority. There has been talk that she may be considered as a replacement for Florida Sen. Marco Rubio as Trump has said he will be tapped to be the next Secretary of State. Last month she told Fox News’ Sean Hannity that she ‘would love to serve the people of Florida’ and ‘would love to consider’ filling the seat if asked,” the report continued.

Over the weekend, Lara Trump had a conversation with Howard Kurtz where she gushed about the honor of just being considered for the opportunity.

“Certainly, we’ve all had the opportunity over the past nine years to fully involve ourselves in politics, to understand the American people, what they want, and we’ve all been residents of the state of Florida now for over three years,” she explained. “If that’s something that’s put in front of me, it would be a true honor.”

Trump has the support of Maye Musk, Elon Musk’s mother, who is pushing for her to be Rubio’s replacement.

“The Senate is an old man’s club. We desperately need a smart, young, outspoken woman who will reveal their secrets,” she stated on X. Lara Trump is 42.

Musk, CEO of SpaceX and owner of X, agreed with his mom by replying to her post, “Lara Trump is genuinely great.”

At the end of the day, the new occupant of Rubio’s seat will be determined by Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis. He himself is rumored to be considered for the position of Defense Secretary should the president-elect opt to replace his current pick Pete Hegseth.
