Breaking: NFL Legend Joins Trump Admin

(Congressional Agenda) – Another close ally of President-elect Donald Trump has now joined his administration. Former NFL legend Herschel Walker, who ran for Senate as a Republican, has been chosen as ambassador to the Bahamas. When Trump said he was going to fill his cabinet with people he knew he could truly count on, he meant it. The team gets better and better. It’s almost like he’s picking the Avengers to help make this nation great again.

“Herschel has spent decades serving as an Ambassador to our Nation’s youth, our men and women in the Military, and athletes at home and abroad,” Trump went on to say in a Tuesday night statement.

“A successful businessman, philanthropist, former Heisman Trophy winner, and NFL great, Herschel has been a tireless advocate for youth sports,” he remarked.

The former NFL superstar has been closely linked to the president-elect ever since the beginning of his professional football career. After he won the Heisman Trophy and national championship as a junior while attending the University of Georgia, the legendary running back fulfilled his dreams by signing a deal with the United States Football League, which signed players who hadn’t completed four years of college. This was something the NFL did not do at the time. He played for the New Jersey Generals in 1983.

“In 1984, the team was sold to Donald Trump, who added other stars to the Generals — including Boston College great Doug Flutie — although they never won a championship. The league collapsed after the 1985 season, in which Walker was the league MVP, despite the USFL featuring other future NFL greats like Steve Young, Jim Kelly, Reggie White, Sam Mills and Gary Zimmerman,” The Western Journal reported.

The piece then added, “Walker then joined the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys, where he was again one of the league’s biggest stars and his team’s biggest talent before being sent to the Minnesota Vikings in a blockbuster trade in 1989. While he would never regain the form he had in Dallas, he retired at the end of the 1997 season with over 8,000 yards in rushing, two All-Pro selections, and two Pro Bowl selections.”

When Trump ran for president in the 2016 election cycle, Herschel Walker was one of the first big names to come out and back him. In an interview with USA Today, Walker commented, “There’s not a doubt in my mind right now he is my frontrunner.” This statement was made despite some serious pushback from the mainstream media.

“I’m not going to say anything negative about him because it’s not true,” he then stated.

The president-elect is a man who values loyalty and as such, returned the favor of supporting Walker when he ran in Georgia’s 2021-2022 Senate race.

“Herschel Walker is a friend, a Patriot, and an outstanding American who is going to be a GREAT United States Senator. He embodies ‘America First’ and the winning spirit of Georgia,” Trump proclaimed about his friend in a statement put out at the time.

Unfortunately, Walker lost a runoff against well funded Democratic candidate Raphael Warnock.

But things are definitely looking up for him now with his new gig in the Trump administration.
