‘We Will Not Rest’: Top Republicans Rage Over Hunter Biden’s ‘Slap On The Wrist’

(Congressional Agenda) – Republican officials came blasting out of the gate after hearing the news about President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, making a sweetheart deal with prosecutors after a lengthy five-year investigation into highly suspect actions that will now only result in two misdemeanor tax charges and a gun charge, all of which is likely to be tossed out of court.

You know all of that “privilege” liberals lecture us so much about? It has nothing to do with being white. It has everything to do with being a powerful, well connected Democrat politician. And yet, the same perpetual victims will go out of their way to protect their actual abusers on the left. It’s pathetic.

According to BizPac Review writer Tom Tillison, “U.S. Attorney David Weiss has reportedly reached a plea agreement with President Joe Biden’s son, who is expected to avoid any jail time and be sentenced instead to probation for a short spell. NBC News said the deal ‘indicates an end to the sweeping, five-year investigation by federal prosecutors, FBI agents and IRS officials into Hunter Biden’s conduct.’ So case closed, with all the millions of dollars flowing into the Biden coffers from China and Ukraine wrapped up in a pretty little bow.”

Current presidential candidate Gov. Ron DeSantis, a Florida Republican, spoke out about the deal by saying that Hunter Biden was spared from having to face consequences for his actions due to being “connected to the elite DC class.”

“Wow! The corrupt Biden DOJ just cleared up hundreds of years of criminal liability by giving Hunter Biden a mere ‘traffic ticket.’ Our system is BROKEN!” Former President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social.

Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy, a California Republican, discussed America’s current “two-tiered” system of justice.

“My first reaction is that it continues to show a two-tiered system in America,” House Speaker Kevin McCarthy said during a chat with reporters on Tuesday. “If you are the president’s leading political opponent, the DOJ tries to literally put you in jail and give you prison time. If you are the president’s son, you get a sweetheart deal.”

Chairman of the House Oversight Committee Rep. James Comer, a Republican from Kentucky, issued a statement saying Hunter was “getting away with a slap on the wrist” going on to point out that the deal would have “no impact” on the current investigation into both his and his father’s potential involvement in family corruption.

“Let’s be clear: the Department of Justice’s charges against President Biden’s son Hunter reveal a two-tiered system of justice,” Comer went on to say in a release. “Hunter Biden is getting away with a slap on the wrist when growing evidence uncovered by the House Oversight Committee reveals the Bidens engaged in a pattern of corruption, influence peddling, and possibly bribery.”

“These charges against Hunter Biden and sweetheart plea deal have no impact on the Oversight Committee’s investigation,” the chairman continued in the statement. “We will not rest until the full extent of President Biden’s involvement in the family’s schemes are revealed.”

House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government member, Rep. Elise Stefanik, a New York Republican, commented that Hunter Biden’s deal is “the epitome of the politicization and Weaponization of Joe Biden’s Department of Justice.”

“They give a slap on the wrist to President Biden’s son — a tax fraud and corrupt pay-to-play criminal,” Stefanik stated about the deal. “It’s never been more clear that we have a two tiered system of justice when you have the son of the sitting President of the United States selling our country out to the highest bidder, laundering money, committing tax fraud, accepting bribes, illegally obtaining a firearm, and shamefully avoiding child support.”

Ohio Republican Sen. J.D. Vance posted a tweet saying, “Any other American would have the book thrown at them. The president’s son gets a slap on the wrist. This is exhibit 1,402 for why I’m holding Biden’s DOJ nominees. We have a two-tiered justice system in our country. It’s a disgrace.”

Another excellent point that many critics of the deal mentioned was how this arrangement was a deflection from the current bribery allegations standing against the president.

“Despite Biden’s claim that his son did nothing wrong, it’s been obvious for years that Hunter Biden committed tax & gun crimes. This deal attempts to distract from the unresolved bribery allegations re: then-VP Biden. Americans deserve answers re: the Joe Biden investigation,” Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-TN) asserted on Twitter. “The Biden DOJ gives President Biden’s son a slap on the wrist with no jail time while it presses for a quick trial of President Biden’s political opponent on charges that carry decades behind bars. America is better than this two-tiered justice system.”

“Don’t let the Hunter Biden plea deal news today distract you from Special Counsel John Durham’s testimony on the FBI’s corruption today and tomorrow on Capitol Hill. The release of this plea deal this morning is part of a bigger deflection scheme.” Congressman Andy Biggs of Arizona tweeted.
