Trump Gets Banned Again! Truth Social Not Available On Android Devices… CEO Devin Nunes Gives Update

(Congressional Agenda) – Just how terrified is the radical left of Donald Trump? I’m not sure you can actually quantify that into some sort of percentage or rating, but the fact that Google has yet to approve the Truth Social app for Android through the Play Store seems to provide a bit of a hint. Why haven’t they gone forward with the approval of the former president’s social media platform? According to a spokesperson for Google, it’s because there isn’t enough content moderation on it.

Which is exactly the point. Trump created the platform as a means of encouraging and promoting free speech. Not every single word a person says should be placed under a microscope, which is a lesson these folks have not yet learned. Or, maybe they have learned, maybe they do understand, but are actually anti-freedom of speech? I’d put money on the latter.

According to Axios, Devin Nunes, former congressman and current CEO of Truth Social, made claimed last week that the decision concerning when the app would be approved and made available on the app store for Android is “up to Google,” however, the big tech company has said the exact opposite, saying the whole thing is in the social media platform’s hands.

“I don’t know what’s taking them so long,” Nunes said.

Google replied, “On Aug. 19, we notified Truth Social of several violations of standard policies in their current app submission and reiterated that having effective systems for moderating user-generated content is a condition of our terms of service for any app to go live on Google Play.”

“Last week Truth Social wrote back acknowledging our feedback and saying that they are working on addressing these issues,” the company continued.

A source that is close to the situation has come out and stated that the concerns Google have about the platform are related to content such as physical threats and incitement to violence. Funny. I don’t remember Google having much of a problem with “incitements to violence” when Black Lives Matter and Antifa were organizing “protests,” which were really just riots, in every major city in the country. Do you remember that? Guess my memory is just a little fuzzy.

I’m pretty sure that these individuals plotted and encouraged incitements to violence using Facebook and Twitter, both of which are included in the Play Store. Just throwing out some inconvenient facts that need to be addressed.

According to Axios, Truth Social does employ the use of “sensitive content” banners which appear before some posts, which go on to say, “This content may not be suitable for all audiences,” however, content that allegedly threatens violence is still up on the platform.

“For example, in response to a post from former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn, an account called ‘TheVictim24’ posted last week, ‘It’s be nice if you people weren’t just okay with the military and police stage a rebellion and framing civilians. Zero people trust the police and if the military comes in, we’ll kill them. Someone admit this nation needs to be nuked because it’s satanic,'” the report stated. According to the report, this post did not include a label.

There is one way that Truth Social can create a workaround for users of Android products. The platform could put out a version of the app through its website, which is not an option made available to those who are Apple users, however, as of this writing the company has not chosen to take that path.

You might be wondering what the big deal is about not having the app available for Android users. Well, the big issue is that as long as this app remains off the app store, 44 percent of U.S. smartphone users are not able to use it. That limits the reach the former president has to get his messaging out to the world, including those who support him.

That could be a really big problem come 2024, if Trump decides to give the White House a second run.
