John Kerry, Whose Family Owns A Private Jet, Flies To Africa, Warns Continent: ‘Be Very Careful’ About Investing In Natural Gas

(Congressional Agenda) – There’s no shortage of hypocrisy when it comes to the Democratic Party and the application of the principles they want the rest of us to adopt and live by, however, one of the areas where this shines the brightest is the area of climate change, particularly the topic of reducing carbon emissions, oil, and all sorts of things that are related to that issue.

A good case in point is John Kerry, Joe Biden’s climate envoy who previously, as of 2019 owned a total of five mansions and whose family is the proud owner of a private jet, going to developing African nations and warning them against investing in long-term natural gas projects, which would ultimately help expand citizen access to electricity.

Imagine telling a developing nation that is far less wealthy than our country, not to work toward providing power and electricity through natural gas projects, which would help pull the citizenry out of poverty. Unreal.

“Kerry said that African nations should be wary of natural gas developments that could bring electricity to hundreds of millions of impoverished people as the gas projects will lead to more carbon emissions, according to Reuters. Kerry, who has a reported net worth of around $250 million, at one point owned five pricey homes in the U.S., including an $11.75 million 18.5-acre mansion in Martha’s Vineyard which they bought in 2017,” stated the Daily Caller.

“We do not have to rush to go backward, we need to be very careful about exactly how much we are going to deploy, how it is going to be paid for, over what period of time and how do you capture the emissions,” Kerry went on to say to the folks at Reuters during an African environment ministers’ conference held in Senegal.

“Kerry and his wife owned a luxury townhouse in Boston’s Beacon Hill neighborhood as recently as 2019 where the average property value is $2.89 million, according to Redfin. The couple also owned a house in Washington’s Georgetown neighborhood that they sold for $7 million in 2020, according to the Washingtonian,” the DC reported.

The couple owned two more homes as recently as 2015, one in the city of Pittsburgh, the other in Idaho, that have an estimated value of almost 9 million, according to a report from Fox News.

Over the course of the last year and a half that Biden has been in the White House, the jet has produced emissions that are equivalent to the burning of 331,923 pounds of coal, data from the Environmental Protection Agency’s greenhouse gas calculator. Yet, the leftists who are in the administration will still preach that everyone else needs to reduce their emissions, without seeking first to eliminate their own. That, my friends, is pure hypocrisy, put on full display.

“Kerry argued that gas projects that would remain operational past 2030 would cause issues for African countries. He said that countries would struggle to break even on their investments within 10 years and added that projects that could last as long as 40 years were not needed,” the DC reported.

A report from the International Energy Agency from June 2022 said that over 600 million people, or 43 percent of the population of Africa, currently do not have access to electricity. The current energy crisis that has been slamming the world has led to a massive increase in the price of food, electricity, and other commodities, which has increased the strain African economies are under after the stress caused by the COVID pandemic and lockdowns, according to that same report.

Around 25 million more people in Africa are without electricity right now than compared to the numbers before the pandemic.

“We are not saying no gas,” Kerry said during his interview with Reuters. “What we are saying is, over the next few years, gas replaces coal or replaces oil,” he said, claiming that natural gas can be used as a stopgap while countries transition towards using more green energy.”

Do people like Kerry just not realize they are being hypocrites, or do they really not care? Is it really just about them having power and dominion over others? Good questions.
