(Congressional Agenda) – The Department of Justice continues to prove that it is now a weapon in the hands of radical progressives who are doing their best to find something, anything, they can use against Donald Trump as a means of tearing him down and preventing him from being able to run for the White House in 2024.
According to a new report from the Daily Caller, the DOJ has now recommended that a federal judge appoint a Democratic donor and former judge to be the individual who serves as the special master in the current Mar-a-Lago investigation. Because there’s not going to be any sort of bias at all by appointing an individual like that to the position, right? Good grief.
“The DOJ recommended in a Friday filing that the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida appoint Barbara Jones as special master — an appointee who oversees litigation and makes court recommendations. Jones, a retired judge in the Southern District of New York, has donated thousands to Democratic causes, records show,” the report continued.
“Jones has contributed over $5,000 to candidates as well as the Democratic National Committee (DNC) since 2019, according to Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings. She most recently gave $2,900 to former New York congressional candidate Liz Holtzman, filings show,” the Daily Caller stated in the report.
Judge Aileen Cannon approved the request for a special master made by former President Donald Trump and his legal team, which allows an individual outside of the situation to look over the documents that were taken by the FBI during the raid of Trump’s Florida home to find out what material falls under attorney-client privilege. The former president has continually made the argument that a special master is critical to ensuring the DOJ give back documents that were taken from him, especially “privileged and potentially privileged materials.”
The DOJ, which has filed appeals on Cannon’s decision regarding the special master, and the legal team for Trump have filed two recommendations for who should fill the role of special master in the probe on the raid of the Mar-a-Lago property.
“The FBI raided Mar-a-Lago in August over White House documents Trump had in his possession, which the DOJ claims belong to the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). The Presidential Records Act requires records related to the oval office to be kept and preserved by NARA,” the report said.

“Jones was also notably tapped by former Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo to probe sexual harassment claims against him. The move came in February 2021 upon a second former aide accusing the governor of harassment — at which point Cuomo counsel Beth Garvey announced Jones would lead an independent review,” the Daily Caller reported.
Biden’s DOJ then proposed the court potentially appoint Thomas B. Griffith as the special master in the case. Griffith is a former judge who was appointed to the bench by former President George W. Bush, but was recently tapped by President Joe Biden to be his U.S. Supreme Court Presidential Commission. The purpose of the commission is to provide the highest court in the land with proposals concerning how it should operate.
However, Trump and his team have suggested that either federal judge Raymond J. Dearie or former Deputy Florida Attorney General Paul Huck be appointed to the position of special master.
It seems pretty clear that Biden’s DOJ is doing their best to stack the odds in their favor when it comes to this particular case. They want to be able to twist the narrative and use documents from those taken from the raid in order to paint Trump up as some sort of twisted criminal who wants to make money off selling state secrets or some such other nonsense.
At the end of the day, it’s a political attack designed to insulate Biden from the potential of facing off against Trump in his reelection campaign in 2024. They already know that Biden is pathetically weak and if Trump decides to run, it’s pretty much a given he’ll take home the victory.
