(Congressional Agenda) – The widow of murdered Fire Chief Corey Comperatore, who was shot and killed during the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump on Saturday evening during a rally in Butler County, Pennsylvania, did not want a single thing to do with President Joe Biden. When he called her following the tragedy she declined to speak with him, she said in an interview with the New York Post.
“I didn’t talk to Biden,” Helen Comperatore remarked from her Pennsylvania home Monday. “I didn’t want to talk to him. My husband was a devout Republican and he would not have wanted me to talk to him.”
“Corey Comperatore, a beloved volunteer firefighter and married father of two, was at Trump’s rally in Butler, Pa., on Saturday with his family when deranged sniper Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, opened fire. A bullet struck the former president in the ear, two rallygoers were wounded and Corey Comperatore was killed in the gunfire,” the report noted.
Mrs. Comperatore went on to tell the news outlet that Saturday was supposed to be an “exciting day” for the whole family who were eager to show their support for Trump in the upcoming 2024 election. As the shooting started, Comperatore’s husband shouted, “Get down,” and then shielded his family from the bullets of the gunman with his own body, which ended up costing his life.
But you know what? This is how a man is supposed to behave. No doubt about it, Comperatore is a hero. A person defines themselves not by what they say or believe, but what they actually do. I think we know everything we need to about the character of Comperatore. What a hero.
“I don’t have any ill will towards Joe Biden. I’m not one of those people that gets involved in politics. I support Trump. That’s who I’m voting for, but I don’t have ill will towards Biden,” she continued. “He didn’t do anything bad to my husband. A 20-year-old despicable kid did.”

That is an amazingly mature way to view this situation. Sure, she didn’t take Biden’s phone call, but given what happened and how it is connected to the 2024 presidential race, that’s more than understandable.
Let’s hope and pray that Comperatore can heal from this loss over time and lead a somewhat normal life.
