(Congressional Agenda) – Special Counsel Jack Smith, who is doing his best at being a tool in the hand of progressives by prosecuting former President Donald Trump over charges related to his alleged mishandling of classified documents, is now facing some serious backlash as a result of his efforts, this time from a U.S. District Judge.
“In a filing posted Sunday, U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon for the Southern District of Florida said, ‘The Court deems it necessary to express concern over the Special Counsel’s treatment of certain sealed materials in this case.’ Smith, working as special counsel for the Department of Justice, is prosecuting Trump for allegedly mishandling classified documents that he took to his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida, after leaving office in January 2021,” Samuel Short writes for The Western Journal.
Trump is facing a total of 40 charges in this case.
The concern from Cannon, a judge that was appointed by Trump himself, comes from Smith asking her to hide information from the general public to help protect the secrecy of the grand jury and provide protection for witnesses involved in the case. She revealed that Smith was not at all concerned about those same issues during other points of the case.
The filing made by Cannon reads, “[C]ounsel explained that the Special Counsel took the position on unsealing in order to publicly and transparently refute defense allegations of prosecutorial misconduct raised in pretrial motions. Fair enough.”
She then says, “nowhere in that explanation is there any basis to conclude that the Special Counsel could not have defended the integrity of his Office while simultaneously preserving the witness-safety and Rule6(e) concerns he has repeatedly told the Court, and maintains to this day, are of serious consequence, and which the Court has endeavored with diligence to accommodate in its multiple Orders on sealing/redaction. The Court is disappointed in these developments.”
Judge Cannon also included an incident in the filing where Smith had, during two different filings, displayed no objection to fully unsealing the docket entries.
Cannon states, “In light of that repeated representation, and in the absence of any defense objection, the Court unsealed those materials consistent with the general presumption in favor of public access.”
“Smith — in two filings — did not have a problem with unsealing documents, and the defense had no problem with it. Now Smith is reversing course and asking Cannon to keep information from the public,” Short penned in the article. “Smith thought it was a good idea to let the public see what’s happening so that, as Cannon put it, the prosecution can, ‘refute defense allegations of prosecutorial misconduct raised in pretrial motions.’ Now he appears to be going the other way,” the report continues.
This is just another example of how the Justice Department has been utilized as a weapon against Trump and by extension those who support him, in an attempt to shut down opposition to President Joe Biden in the 2024 election.
Liberals realize that the shenanigans they used in 2020 aren’t going to work a second time against Trump, thus they are doing everything they can to try and disqualify him from being able to run.
It is critical that Trump wins in November. We need a commander-in-chief who will work to root out the deep state controlling the DOJ, restoring honor and integrity back to our justice system.

The sooner Biden is out of the white house, the better. His total presidency has been a failure, a total failure, a total disaster, an embarrassment as he is to this country.
