(Congressional Agenda) – On Monday, the Supreme Court of Nevada ruled that any mail-in ballots without a postmark can be received and counted up to four days after the election. This is just one more in a long series of legal setbacks that have been handed down to the Republican Party as we get closer and closer to Election Day. The ruling upholds a decision by the lower court to reject a lawsuit filed by the Republican National Committee that sought to challenge the legality of the post-election deadline for mail-in ballots received sans a postmark.
What we have here is the radical left-wing branch of the Democratic Party trying to get every advantage possible to ensure the GOP doesn’t take the White House nor seize control of both chambers of Congress. This is a great example of why election integrity is a critical issue, one that needs to be fought for as often as possible and not just when it’s election season.
According to a report from Fox News, “Plaintiffs had challenged the state’s decision to allow non-postmarked ballots to be counted four days after the election, the standard it allows for postmarked ballots, which they argued was ‘unconstitutional.’ Their injunction to reject the ballots was struck down by a lower court earlier this year.”
Fox then noted, “The Nevada high court affirmed the lower court decision in its majority decision Monday, noting that the RNC had failed to demonstrate evidence to support its claims that the non-postmarked ballots were vulnerable to election fraud or favored one political party over another. Judges also agreed with the lower court’s contention that the RNC lacked proper standing to sue, and that the case was ‘inherently speculative.'”
“If a voter properly and timely casts their vote by mailing their ballot before or on the day of the election, and through a post office omission the ballot is not postmarked, it would go against public policy to discount that properly cast vote,” the justices stated in their majority opinion.
Democrats are clearly attempting to portray themselves as the party that cares about fair and free elections, despite the fact that we’ve witnessed them undermining electoral integrity. Leftists are willing to pull out all of the stops to prevent former President Donald Trump from landing in the Oval Office a second time. They are terrified of him. Why?
Because he will undo the hard work and infrastructure they have put in place to transform our nation from a capitalistic constitutional republic into a dystopian socialist nightmare. And thus, we have to fight as hard as possible to ensure that our election truly is free and fair, regardless of how many setbacks we experience in the process.
