(Congressional Agenda) – Billionaire owner of social media platform X and free speech advocate Elon Musk penned a post ripping tech giant Google for their omission of search functions related to the assassination attempt of former President Donald Trump, suggesting such action might be improper. Musk is shaping up to be one of the most important public figures and businessmen of our time. The work he has done with X, transforming it from a platform that censored conservative opinions while insulating liberals to one that is free for all people, is nothing short of miraculous. Of course, X is not perfect by any stretch, but it’s a far cry better than most social media.
According to a report from Fox News, “Musk took to social media to highlight that Google Search’s autocomplete feature omitted results relating to the July 13 shooting. Google has denied taking any action to limit the results.”
“Wow, Google has a search ban on President Donald Trump! Election interference?” Musk said in the post. “They’re getting themselves into a lot of trouble if they interfere with the election,” he stated in a follow-up.
A spokesperson representing Google sent a statement to FOX Business saying there was “no manual action taken on these predictions.”

“Our systems have protections against Autocomplete predictions associated with political violence, which were working as intended prior to this horrific event occurring,” the spokesperson wrote. “We’re working on improvements to ensure our systems are more up to date.”
That might be a tad bit believable if it weren’t for screenshots from Google which show recommended search results for the failed assassination attempt on former President Ronald Reagan and the successful one made on Archduke Ferdinand that launched the first world war, along with the shooting of Bob Marley and the failed assassination on former President Ford.
Even if you type in “assassination attempt trump” you get no additional terms from Google, as per users who were testing the site’s algorithm.
Even if you type out the entire word no results autofill on Google @Google.
We’re witnessing the erasure of history in real time.

“Big Tech is trying to interfere in the election AGAIN to help Kamala Harris,” Donald Trump Jr. commented on X. “We all know this is intentional election interference from Google. Truly despicable.”

The spokesperson for Google asserted that the autocomplete feature is “just a tool to help people save time” and explained that users can still search for anything they want.
Google needs to be hauled in front of Congress to answer for this.

Why is @Google suppressing the search about the Trump assassination attempt? These are all screenshots from this morning. Has there been a dramatic increase in Truman biographers in the last two weeks?
I’ll be making an official inquiry into @google this week – I look forward… pic.twitter.com/GD5SOvvcdX

“Following this terrible act, people turned to Google to find high quality information – we connected them with helpful results, and will continue to do so,” the company remarked in the conclusion of the report.
